Most Of Our Anger Is Sin 2

John 3:36: He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.

Psalms 7:11: God judgeth the righteous, and God is angry with the wicked every day.

James 1:20: For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God.

Titus 1:7: For a bishop must be blameless, as the steward of God; not selfwilled, not soon angry, not given to wine, no striker, not given to filthy lucre;

Ecclesiastes 7:9: Be not hasty in thy spirit to be angry: for anger resteth in the bosom of fools.

God gets angry. Men get angry. But the anger of men and the anger of God are usually different. It might be helpful to know the differences between God*s anger and ours. He stops being angry at the right times and for the right reasons.

God loves the people He is angry with. He wants to get over His anger. He is angry at sin and sinners. He is angry at them because they sin. He wants to change them from people who reject His love and are worthy of His anger. He wants to change them into people who receive His love and return it to Him. He wants to make them into new creatures. He wants them to repent and He gives them opportunity to repent. He stays angry at them if they refuse to repent. He ceases to be angry at them when they do repent. He provides a way that they can escape His anger and be at peace with Him and please Him. He has provided a Saviour for them.

Men get angry too quickly and they stay angry too long. Too often they don*t want to get over their anger. They get angry over the wrong things. They get angry at things that are not sins. They usually do not share the gospel with sinners they are angry with. They usually believe that those they are angry with do not deserve to hear the gospel. Their anger puts a wall between them and others. They do not provide a way for sinners to become righteous people that they will love. Men who are angry and do not share the gospel with people have sinful anger. When men are angry at people and prefer to stay angry at them, their anger is sin. When men repent, our anger at them should cease, just as God*s does.

God*s anger, if it were all that He had, would not accomplish His will. He is also full of love, mercy, grace and forgiveness.

2 Peter 3:9: The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

We must not get stuck in our anger. We must also have love, mercy, grace and forgiveness.

If a man is angry while sharing the Word of God, I believe he will usually neutralize its power. I believe he will usually prevent it from causing faith in his listeners. Anger is not listed among the fruit of the Spirit.

Galatians 5:22-23: But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

Ephesians 5:9: (For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;)

Anger is not listed among the causes of our fruitfulness.

2 Peter 1:5-8: And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; 6 And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; 7 And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity. 8 For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
